Dr. Courtney Burstein


Dr. Burstein grew up in Thornhill, Ontario with her parents, brother and sister, and her beloveddog, Blizzard. She studied Health Sciences at Wilfrid Laurier University, where she was the goldmedalist for the Faculty of Science. She then graduated from the Ontario Veterinary College in2019 and was awarded the Gus Lagerquist Five “V” Prize for building class unity and teamwork; focusing on helping others, and the desire and ability to advance the veterinary profession.

Following graduation, Dr. Burstein completed a rigorous small animal rotating internship in emergency, internal medicine and surgery at the 404 Veterinary Emergency and ReferralHospital, where she gained crucial skills working in a fast-paced environment and was able to learn from specialists.

Her professional interests include internal medicine, palliative care and pain management, and minimizing animal stress at veterinary visits. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, hiking, scuba diving, and skydiving, and spending time at her family cottage with her family, fiancé, friends, and her two kitties, Hall and Oates.
