How often should my pet get bloodwork?
Each patient has very different needs, but it is a good idea to get your pet’s bloodwork done approximately once per year if they are in good health. If your pet has an ongoing condition, they may need more frequent bloodwork for monitoring.
Is bloodwork painful for pets?
Patients may feel a slight pinch, but the level of discomfort is minimal. The vast majority of patients handle it very well as it feels similar to any other injection/vaccine they may receive. It takes only a few short minutes to complete the process.
How long will it take to receive the results?
Since we have an in-clinic lab, we are able to provide you with same day results and analysis. For more complex cases, we may need to send your pet’s samples to an outside lab. In those instances, it may take about 3 to 5 business days to collect the results.
